Last updated: April 12, 2026  ·  Haywire Bookings, New Brunswick, Canada

1. Who We Are

Haywire Bookings ("Haywire," "we," "us," or "our") is a software company incorporated in New Brunswick, Canada. We provide an SMS-based appointment booking platform for barbershops, salons, and similar businesses ("Merchants"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information in connection with our services.

This policy applies to Merchants who sign up for Haywire, and extends to the clients of those Merchants to the extent their information is processed through our platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

3. How We Use Your Information

4. SMS Messaging and Client Consent

Haywire provides Merchants with a dedicated phone number through which their clients can send and receive text messages to book appointments, receive reminders, and receive other communications related to the Merchant's business.

In most cases, a client initiates contact by texting the Merchant's Haywire number — this constitutes express consent to receive SMS communications through the platform.

In cases where a Merchant migrates an existing client list and sends an initial outreach message, the Merchant is solely responsible for ensuring that such outreach complies with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and any other applicable law. Haywire provides the technology; the Merchant's consent obligations remain the Merchant's responsibility.

5. Sharing of Information

Haywire does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

6. Stripe and Payment Processing

When a Merchant connects their bank account through Stripe, they enter into a direct agreement with Stripe and are subject to Stripe's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Haywire routes payments collected on the Merchant's behalf back to the Merchant as part of normal platform operations. Haywire does not store or access full banking credentials or card numbers.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as a Merchant account is active or as necessary to provide our services. Upon account cancellation, data is retained for a reasonable period to comply with legal obligations and then securely deleted.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Our platform is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over SMS or the internet.

9. Your Rights

Under applicable Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent for certain uses subject to legal restrictions. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.

10. Limitation of Liability

Haywire Bookings provides its platform on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Haywire is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including SMS delivery failures or unauthorized data access.

Merchants are solely responsible for their own compliance with applicable privacy laws, including CASL, in connection with how they collect and use their clients' contact information.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify active Merchants of material changes via SMS or email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
